Offered here is a genuine Qianlong Tongbao (乾隆通寶) 1 cash from the Qing dynasty of China, cast during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795), one of the longest and most prosperous reigns in Chinese history. The reverse carries the Manchu mint name Boo Ciowan, the Board of Revenue mint in Beijing, the empire's main capital mint.
Grade: Very Fine (VF). All four Chinese characters on the obverse are complete and readable, and the Manchu Boo Ciowan on the reverse is bold. The inner and outer rims are well defined, with a natural brass color on the rims.
Condition, please read: in fairness, the fields on both sides have green and gray encrustation (light corrosion deposits) around the characters, which is common on cast cash coins. There is a small nick on the obverse rim, plus fine scratches, handling marks and a few darker spots on the rims. No cracks or bends seen. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
