2025-S Althea Gibson Proof Quarter American Women Final Year Cameo Tennis 25C
Offered here is a 2025-S Althea Gibson American Women Quarter in Proof, struck at the San Francisco Mint (S mint mark below the date).
The reverse honors Althea Gibson, the trailblazing tennis champion who in 1956 became the first African American to win a Grand Slam title, shown at the net with racket and ball. 2025 is the final year of the American Women Quarters Program (2022-2025).
Condition: Proof. Frosted devices stand out against deep mirror fields on both sides for strong cameo contrast. No spots or toning are visible in the photos. The coin is photographed through the window of its 2x2 holder, which softens fine detail, so please look over the photos, which are the best description.
Holder: the coin comes in a stapled cardboard 2x2 flip, shown in the third and fourth photos. The "2025-S" and "PROOF" written on the flip are by others. The flip is for storage only.
This is the copper-nickel clad proof issue (not silver).
Year: 2025
Mint: San Francisco (S)
Denomination: 25C
Strike: Proof
Composition: copper-nickel clad
Grade: ungraded (raw)
The coin shown is the exact coin you will receive.
