2014-S Native American Sacagawea Dollar Proof Deep Cameo Native Hospitality $1
Offered here is a 2014-S Native American (Sacagawea) Dollar in Proof, struck at the San Francisco Mint. The 2014 reverse, "Native Hospitality Ensured the Success of the Lewis and Clark Expedition", shows a Native man offering a peace pipe and a Native woman holding a bundle of food, set against a compass rose pointing NW. Like all Native American dollars since 2009, the date and S mint mark are on the edge lettering, shown in the edge photo.
Grade: Proof, raw and ungraded. Mirror-black fields with heavily frosted devices on the obverse (deep cameo contrast). The reverse photos are lit for detail and show more glare, so the frost reads lighter there than it is in hand.
In fairness: there is a tiny white fleck at the bottom rim of the reverse (about 6 o'clock) that may be a speck of debris or a small tick, and a faint haze on parts of the reverse rim. Light handling hairlines, which are common on raw proofs, cannot be ruled out under this lighting. Please see the photos, which are the best description.
Year: 2014
Mint: San Francisco (S, on the edge)
Strike: Proof
Composition: manganese brass clad over a copper core (golden dollar, not gold)
Grade: Proof, ungraded (raw)
The coin ships in a protective holder.
The coin shown is the exact coin you will receive.
