1986-S Statue of Liberty Commemorative Half Dollar Gem Proof Deep Cameo Mirrors

1986-S Statue of Liberty Commemorative Half Dollar — Gem Proof Deep Cameo

On offer is a 1986-S Statue of Liberty commemorative half dollar in Gem Proof condition with deep cameo contrast — frosted devices floating over black mirror fields. Struck at San Francisco for the Statue of Liberty centennial, the obverse shows Lady Liberty with the rising sun and an arriving immigrant ship; the reverse, "A Nation of Immigrants," depicts an immigrant family on the Ellis Island dock looking toward the Manhattan skyline.

This example has bright white frost, clean mirrors, and bold cameo contrast on both sides — a handsome type coin from one of the most popular modern commemorative programs.
