1983 Lincoln Memorial Cent Off-Center Strike Error About 4-5% Off Center PennyAn off-center strike happens when the coin blank sits partly outside the dies at the moment of striking, leaving a blank crescent on one side. This 1983 Philadelphia Lincoln cent is struck roughly 4–5% off center, with the blank area on the left of the obverse. The design is otherwise sharp with full date and lettering, and the coin shows colorful toning. For full disclosure the reverse has white lint and fiber plus a pink fabric-texture residue stuck over the Memorial and E PLURIBUS UNUM, and some blue-green spots — please see the photos. The coin has not been cleaned.
