Offered here is a 1981-S Susan B. Anthony dollar proof from the San Francisco Mint, certified PR69DCAM (Deep Cameo) by PCGS and attributed on the label as Type 1.
1981 was the last year of the original Susan B. Anthony dollar run (1979-1981) before the series returned briefly in 1999. Proofs from 1981 were struck with two styles of S mint mark, and collectors look for the Type 1 and Type 2 versions separately. PCGS has attributed this coin as Type 1.
The coin shows deep mirror fields with frosted portraits and lettering, the contrast that earns the Deep Cameo designation, and PR69 is just one point below a perfect grade.
Please note: the holder has light handling scuffs and some fine lines on the plastic that show in the close-ups. Please see the photos, which are the best description.
