Offered here is a 1974-S Eisenhower 40% silver dollar, still sealed in its original U.S. Mint cellophane inside the original blue Mint envelope, the packaging collectors call the "Blue Ike." From 1971 to 1974 the Mint sold these 40% silver uncirculated dollars to collectors in this blue packaging; 1974 was the last year before the Bicentennial design. Only 1,900,156 uncirculated 1974-S silver Ikes were made, and each contains 0.3161 troy ounce of actual silver.
Grade: Uncirculated. The coin has never left the Mint cellophane. The hair above the ear and the eagle's head, breast and wing feathers are fully detailed with no wear, and the satin luster runs unbroken across both sides. The S mint mark sits just above the date.
Condition, please read: in fairness, the coin shows light dark speckling and haze on the portrait, a few small toning spots in the fields and on the eagle, and some scattered light marks, as is common on Blue Ikes. The envelope has light corner wear, light scuffs and a few light spots on the back, and normal handling wear on the flap. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
Included: the coin in its sealed Mint cellophane with the blue Eisenhower token, the Mint paper inserts, and the original blue envelope, all as shown.
