Offered here is a 1974-D Eisenhower dollar, struck at the Denver Mint. The D mint mark is below the bust, just above the date.
The obverse shows President Dwight D. Eisenhower; the reverse is the Apollo 11 mission insignia, an eagle landing on the moon with an olive branch and the Earth in the background. These big dollar coins were struck from 1971 to 1978, the last large-size dollars made for circulation.
Grade: About Uncirculated (AU). Only light wear on the highest points (cheekbone, the hair above the ear, and the eagle's head and breast). The hair lines above the ear and the eagle's feathers are still well defined.
Condition notes: the coin shows scattered light scratches and contact marks on both sides, most visible on the cheek, neck and open fields, and a few small dark spots, mostly near the chin, the date and around the eagle. No rim damage or holes. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
Composition: copper-nickel clad (no silver)
Denomination: one dollar
Mint: Denver (D)
Designer: Frank Gasparro
Mintage: 45,517,000
Condition: ungraded, raw coin
The coin shown is the exact coin you will receive.
