Nixon Bronze Medal, Re-Elect The President. This vintage bronze medal commemorates the 1972 re-election campaign of U.S. President Richard M. Nixon. It features a likeness of the President on the obverse, with the inscription "Richard M. Nixon" above. The reverse shows an elephant with three stars, with "RE-ELECT THE PRESIDENT" around the top and "1972" at the bottom. This is the official 1972 Republican campaign medal minted by the Franklin Mint (FM mark beside the elephant on the reverse; GR designer's initials below the portrait). The edge is marked BRONZE with the Franklin Mint hallmarks. Condition: this medal is made of bronze and is in uncirculated, proof-like condition, but has some blemishes. Please see all the photos. It was manufactured in the United States. The medal shown is the exact medal you will receive. About the series: The Franklin half dollar, designed by Chief Engraver John R. Sinnock, was struck from 1948 to 1963 in 90% silver. The reverse shows the Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack, beside a small eagle.
