1965 Great Britain Churchill Crown Commemorative Queen Elizabeth II KM910 Unc
Offered here is a 1965 Great Britain Crown (KM 910) struck to commemorate Sir Winston Churchill after his death in January 1965. It was the first British coin to show a commoner, with Oscar Nemon's portrait of Churchill on the reverse and the young laureate bust of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.
Condition: Uncirculated, with no wear on the high points of either portrait and light, even golden toning. In fairness, like most of these crowns, which were handled in bulk at the mint, it shows scattered contact marks and fine hairline scratches, most noticeable on Churchill's head and in the open fields. Please see the photos, which are the best description.
Country: Great Britain (United Kingdom)
Denomination: Crown (5 Shillings)
Composition: copper-nickel (not silver), 28.28 g, 38.6 mm
Grade: ungraded (raw)
The coin shown is the exact coin you will receive.
