Offered here is a 1965 British Caribbean Territories (Eastern Group) 2 cents, KM# 3. This big 31 mm bronze coin carries the first crowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Cecil Thomas, with a bold 2 inside a wreath on the reverse. 1965 was the final year of this 1955-1965 British West Indies dollar series, before the East Caribbean States coinage took over.
Grade: Very Fine. Even circulation wear. The Queen's hair curls and waves remain well separated and the crown's arches, cross and jewels are clear, with flattening on the highest points of the hair, cheek and shoulder. On the reverse the wreath leaves keep most of their center veins and the legends, date and 2 are bold.
Condition, please read: there is a small nick on the obverse rim at the bottom, under "ZAB", and a few minor rim bumps elsewhere. Both sides show light scattered scratches and marks from circulation, including fine lines on the cheek and neck. There are a few small greenish spots on the obverse near the neck and lower field, and small dark spots on both sides. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
