Offered here is a genuine 1964 Washington quarter struck in 90% silver at the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark). 1964 was the last year the US Mint struck circulating quarters in 90% silver; from 1965 on they were copper-nickel clad.
Grade: Extremely Fine (XF). Light, even wear on the highest points (Washington's cheek, the hair around the ear, and the eagle's breast and legs). The hair curls and ribbon, the wing feathers and the wreath keep strong detail, and all lettering and the date are sharp and clear of the rim.
Condition, please read: light scattered marks and fine lines in the fields and on the portrait, as normal for a lightly circulated coin, and a tiny dark spot in the field right of LIBERTY. Light toning along part of the reverse rim. No holes, bends or rim damage seen. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
The coin is housed in a cardboard 2x2 holder; the writing on the holder is by others.
