Offered here is a 1957 Roosevelt dime in Proof, struck at the Philadelphia Mint for the 1957 proof sets (mintage 1,247,952). Proof coins were struck on polished planchets with specially prepared dies, giving mirror-like fields, sharp squared rims and crisp detail.
Grade: Proof, brilliant (non-cameo), our opinion. Full proof strike with no wear on the hair, cheek, torch or leaves, and reflective mirror fields.
Condition notes: light hazy toning with scattered spots in the obverse fields, and small dark specks on the reverse, mostly near AMERICA and to the right of the torch. No rim damage, scratches or corrosion. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
The coin comes in the cardboard 2x2 holder shown in photos 3 and 4. The writing on the holder is by others.
