1946 D Booker T Washington Commem Half Dollar 90% Silver BU Die Crack Low Mint

Offered here is a 1946-D Booker T. Washington commemorative half dollar struck at the Denver Mint in 90% silver. The D mint mark is just below the cabin on the reverse. With a mintage of only 200,113, the 1946-D is the lowest-mintage of the three 1946 Booker T. Washington halves. The coin honors the first African American to appear on a U.S. coin, and the reverse shows the Hall of Fame above the slave cabin where he was born in Franklin County, Virginia: "From Slave Cabin to Hall of Fame".
Grade: Uncirculated (BU). There is no wear on the high points: the cheek, hair and the building on the reverse keep their full detail and luster, and the coin shows bright cartwheel luster as it turns in the light. Light golden toning near the rims.
Condition, please read: in fairness, there are contact marks (bag marks) on the cheek, jaw and neck and a few in the obverse fields, with scattered light marks on the reverse and a few tiny reddish toning specks near the cabin. These are common on this issue. No rim damage. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
Composition: 90% silver, 10% copper (0.3617 troy oz actual silver weight)
Mintage: 200,113
Condition: ungraded, raw coin
The coin ships in a protective holder.
The coin shown is the exact coin you will receive.
