1942 Philippines 5 Centavos Japanese Government WWII Occupation Note P-103a PP
Offered here is a genuine World War II Philippines 5 Centavos Japanese Government occupation note (Pick 103a, issued 1942). The front reads "THE JAPANESE GOVERNMENT" and "FIVE CENTAVOS" with red block letters PP printed twice. The back carries a blue rosette design with the numeral 5.
This "JIM" (Japanese Invasion Money) note was issued by Japan for use in the occupied Philippines during WWII, a nice piece of Pacific War history.
Condition: circulated, Very Fine. The design is bold and the paper still has body. In fairness, the note has a vertical center fold with wear along the fold (most visible on the back, where the fold runs to the bottom edge), light soiling and toning of the paper, mostly on the back, a few small ink and dirt marks in the back margins, and a tiny reddish spot near the right edge of the back. Please see the photos, which are the best description.
Denomination: 5 Centavos
Block letters: PP
Grade: ungraded (raw)
The note ships in a protective sleeve.
The note shown is the exact note you will receive.
