1940 Walking Liberty Half Dollar 50C XF Extremely Fine 90% Silver PhiladelphiaAdolph A. Weinman's Walking Liberty half dollar, struck from 1916 to 1947, shows Liberty striding toward the sunrise draped in the flag. It is widely considered one of the most beautiful US coins, and the design returned in 1986 on the American Silver Eagle. This 1940 was struck at the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark). It grades about XF, with strong detail in Liberty's skirt lines and the eagle's feathers. This coin is raw (not certified). The grade shown is our approximate assessment.
