Weinman’s Walking Liberty half dollar, struck from 1916 to 1947, shows Liberty striding toward the sunrise draped in the flag. It is widely considered one of the most beautiful U.S. coins — so much so that the design was revived in 1986 for the obverse of the American Silver Eagle.
