1937-D Mercury Dime 10C BU Brilliant Uncirculated 90% Silver Luster Denver MintOffered here is a 1937-D Mercury Dime from the Denver Mint in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, struck in 90% silver. 14,146,000 were minted at Denver in 1937. This is a bright, fully lustrous coin with no signs of circulation wear. Liberty’s hair and wing feathers are sharp, the fields show strong original mint luster with a light natural tone, and the fasces and olive branch on the reverse are crisp. The D mintmark (to the left of the fasces, close-up photo included) is clear. A very attractive example. Designed by Adolph A. Weinman, the Winged Liberty Head dime (1916-1945) is popularly called the Mercury dime because Liberty’s winged cap resembles the Roman god Mercury.
