1937-D Buffalo Nickel 5C Indian Head Denver Mint Full Date Bold D Mint Mark VF
Offered here is a 1937-D Buffalo (Indian Head) nickel struck at the Denver Mint, with the D mint mark plain below FIVE CENTS. James Earle Fraser's classic design ran from 1913 to 1938, and 1937 was the last year it was struck at Philadelphia and San Francisco.
Grade: Very Fine (VF). The full date is clear and bold, which is often worn away on Buffalo nickels. LIBERTY stands well clear of the rim, the horn is outlined nearly to the tip, and all reverse lettering and the mint mark are bold. Even circulation wear on the cheek, hair and the bison's hip and shoulder.
Condition, please read: scattered light marks and a few fine scratches from circulation, mostly on the Indian's cheek and hair and on the bison's body, and a tiny dark spot between the E and D of UNITED. No rim damage, holes or corrosion seen. Natural gray-tan color. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
Composition: 75% copper, 25% nickel
Mintage: 17,826,000
Condition: ungraded, raw coin
The coin ships in a protective holder.
