This coin shows moderate wear with strong eye appeal for the grade. LIBERTY, the date and IN GOD WE TRUST are bold, the wing feathers on Liberty’s cap show good separation, and the fasces, axe blade and olive branch on the reverse are well defined. Natural silver surfaces with light toning in the fields. Designed by Adolph A. Weinman, the Winged Liberty Head dime (1916-1945) is popularly called the Mercury dime because Liberty’s winged cap resembles the Roman god Mercury.
