1931-D Lincoln Wheat Cent 1C VF Very Fine Semi Key Date Denver Low Mintage Penny

The Lincoln cent, designed by Victor David Brenner, was introduced in 1909 to mark the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth - the first regular U.S. coin to show a real person. The wheat ears reverse was used until 1958.

This 1931-D is a semi-key date: struck at the Denver Mint during the Depression, its mintage of only 4,480,000 is one of the lowest of the 1930s.

It grades about Very Fine, with partly worn wheat lines and smooth cheek and jaw. Even brown color; some light marks on the reverse rim.
