1929 Standing Liberty Quarter 25C G Good 90% Silver Readable Date US CoinOffered here is a 1929 Standing Liberty Quarter from the Philadelphia Mint, struck in 90% silver. The 1929 issue came from the series’ next-to-last year of production; 11,140,000 were minted. This coin shows heavy, even circulation wear typical of the grade. The date reads 1929 on the base, which is notable because the raised dates on early Standing Liberty quarters wore away quickly; the 1925-1930 recessed-date design was introduced to fix that. Lady Liberty, her shield and the eagle on the reverse are all clearly outlined, with natural gray and light golden toning. Designed by Hermon A. MacNeil, the Standing Liberty quarter (1916-1930) is one of the most admired US silver designs of the 20th century.
