1928-D Buffalo Nickel 5C Denver Mint Indian Head Bison AG
Offered here is a Buffalo (Indian Head) nickel 1928-D, struck at the Denver Mint. The 1928-D had a mintage of 6,436,000.
The D mint mark is plain below FIVE CENTS on the reverse. The date is heavily worn and is hard to see in the photos, but it has been confirmed as 1928 under magnification.
Grade: About Good, limited by the date. Apart from the date the coin shows Very Good details: LIBERTY stands clear of the rim, the rims are full on both sides, and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM and the mint mark are all clear. The braid, feathers and bison's fur are outlined; the horn is worn away.
Condition, please read: scattered light scratches and contact marks on both sides, most noticeable on the bison and the cheek, and a small dark spot on the bison's rump. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
Composition: 75% copper, 25% nickel
Condition: Ungraded (raw coin, not certified)
