1926 P Buffalo Nickel 5C Indian Head Philadelphia Mint Fraser Design VF
Offered here is a 1926 Buffalo (Indian Head) nickel, struck at the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark below FIVE CENTS). James Earle Fraser's classic design shows a Native American profile on the front and an American bison on the back. 44,693,000 were struck at Philadelphia in 1926.
Grade: Very Fine (VF). The full date is readable, LIBERTY is bold and clear of the rim, and the legends and FIVE CENTS are bold. The buffalo's horn is outlined nearly to the tip and the shoulder fur still shows, with the head fur worn smooth.
Condition, please read: the front has many fine hairline scratches over the cheek, neck and hair, along with a few longer light scratches. The back has scattered fine scratches and marks on the buffalo and a small dark spot by its front leg. No rim damage, holes or corrosion seen. Light golden toning with some color near the rims. Please see the photos, which are the best description.
Composition: 75% copper, 25% nickel (not silver)
Grade: ungraded (raw coin, not certified)
