1918 Mercury Dime 10C — VF Details — "W" Counterstamp Disclosed
On offer is a 1918 Mercury Dime with Very Fine detail — full LIBERTY, well-defined wing feathers, a clear braid, and strong vertical lines in the fasces on the reverse. Struck at Philadelphia during the final year of World War I.
Identifying mark, disclosed honestly: a small "W" has been counterstamped or scratched into the right obverse field near Liberty's neck, with a light scratch below it — most likely an old owner's initial from a century ago. It is clearly shown in our photos and is the identifying mark of this exact coin. Priced accordingly as a VF-details example.
