Offered here is a genuine 1915 Buffalo (Indian Head) nickel struck at the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark). This is the Type 2 design, with FIVE CENTS set in a recess below a flat ground line, from James Earle Fraser's classic Buffalo nickel series of 1913 to 1938.
Grade: About Good (AG). The obverse is heavily worn and the date is very weak; it reads 1915 under a loupe but is hard to see in photos. LIBERTY is partly visible along the rim. The reverse is stronger, with a full rim, clear UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM and FIVE CENTS, and a worn horn.
Condition, please read: there is a small green spot in the obverse field above the feathers, behind the head, and many light scratches and contact marks on both sides from circulation. No holes, bends or rim damage. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
Year: 1915
Mint: Philadelphia (no mint mark)
Composition: 75% copper, 25% nickel
Condition: ungraded, raw coin
The coin ships in a protective holder.
The coin shown is the exact coin you will receive.
