Offered here is a high grade 1907 Indian Head cent from the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark). With more than 108 million struck, 1907 is the highest mintage year of the entire Indian cent series, coming just two years before the Lincoln cent replaced it.
Grade: AU (About Uncirculated). Full, clear LIBERTY on the headband, complete feather detail with center lines and barbs on every feather, and diamond detail showing on the ribbon, which stands fully apart from the hair. On the reverse the shield lines are sharp and unblended and the oak wreath, bow and arrows are crisp, with only the high points showing light wear. Bold date and legends, full rims and denticles all the way around, and some original luster shows when the coin is tilted in the light.
Condition, please read: there are green verdigris spots on the obverse around STATES and along the upper left rim, and a small green spot at the lips. On the reverse there are green spots in the left side of the wreath, on the upper right wreath and inside the O of ONE, plus some darker toning spots in the field around ONE CENT. Scattered light marks as expected for a circulated coin. Please look at all the photos, which are the best description.
Composition: bronze (95% copper, 5% tin and zinc)
Mintage: 108,138,618
Condition: ungraded, raw coin. The grade is our opinion only.
The coin ships in a protective holder.
The coin shown is the exact coin you will receive.
