Offered here is a 1905 Indian Head cent, struck in bronze at the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark). A sharp, well detailed example from the last years of the Indian Head series, which ended in 1909.
Grade: XF (Extremely Fine). All seven letters of LIBERTY are full and readable on the headband. The feathers show their center lines and separations, the hair curls and the ribbon at the neck are well defined and separated, and some outline of the ribbon diamonds remains. On the reverse the shield stripes are crisp and the oak wreath, bow and arrows keep strong detail. Bold date and legends, with denticles all the way around.
Condition, please read: there is a small nick on the obverse rim at the upper left (about 10 o'clock, above UNITED) and a tiny mark on the reverse rim at about 3 o'clock. The reverse has a few small dark spots on the wreath and one in the field below CENT. Even medium brown color with light wear on the high points. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
Composition: bronze (95% copper, 5% tin and zinc)
Mintage: 80,717,011
Condition: ungraded, raw coin. The grade is our opinion only.
The coin ships in a protective holder.
The coin shown is the exact coin you will receive.
