Offered here is a 1905 Indian Head cent, struck in bronze at the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark). A genuine United States cent over 120 years old, with the oak wreath and shield reverse.
Grade: XF (Extremely Fine). Strong detail for the type: the feathers are nearly complete with their inner lines showing, the ribbon stands apart from the hair, and the headband with LIBERTY shows across the band. Full rims with denticles all the way around, and the date and legends are bold. On the reverse the shield lines are sharp, ONE CENT is bold, and the oak wreath shows only light, even wear on the high points, with a crisp bow and arrows.
Condition, please read: there are dark spots of corrosion on the reverse, mainly on the lower left of the wreath and on the wreath and arrows at lower right. On the obverse there is a dark spot on the cheek and some smaller dark spots on the headband and portrait, a light scratch in the field near UNITED, and a small nick on the rim at the top. Medium brown color otherwise. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
Composition: bronze (95% copper, 5% tin and zinc)
Mintage: 80,719,163
Condition: ungraded, raw coin. The grade is our opinion only.
The coin ships in a protective holder.
The coin shown is the exact coin you will receive.
