Offered here is a 1905 Indian Head cent, struck in bronze at the Philadelphia Mint (Indian cents carry no mint mark before 1908). A genuine 120-year-old cent from the final years of the Indian Head series.
Grade: Good+ (G). Full, bold date and complete legends with full rims on both sides. As is typical at this grade, LIBERTY is worn off the headband, and the feathers show their outlines with detail at the bases. The reverse is a strong side for the grade: the shield lines are clear and the oak wreath shows leaf outlines.
Condition, please read: natural brown circulated surfaces. Light scattered scratches on the obverse, mostly across the face and fields; a small rim nick showing bright copper to the right of the date; a few small dark and green spots around the bust; and light whitish residue in the recesses of the reverse lettering and wreath. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
Composition: bronze (95% copper, 5% tin and zinc)
Denomination: 1 Cent
Mint: Philadelphia (no mint mark)
Ships in the 2x2 snap holder with round capsule shown in the photos.
Ungraded and uncertified. The approximate grade is our opinion only. THE COIN SHOWN IS THE EXACT COIN YOU WILL RECEIVE.
