Offered here is a 1905 Indian Head cent from the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark), struck in bronze in the final years of the Indian cent series, which ended in 1909.
Grade: About Uncirculated (AU). LIBERTY on the headband is complete and sharp. The headdress feathers are fully separated with complete inner feather lines, softened only at the very tips, and the diamond pattern shows along the ribbon. Satiny luster remains in the fields, best seen in the angled photos. On the reverse, ONE CENT is bold, the shield lines are sharp and the oak wreath shows its leaf veins, with only the highest leaf tips flattened. Light rub shows on the cheek and the hair over the ear.
Condition, please read: attractive medium brown. There are small nicks on the reverse rim at the top, above the shield, and a smaller one at the lower right. Small dark spots sit on the upper left of the shield, with a few tiny dark specks elsewhere. Please look at all the photos, which are the best description.
Composition: bronze (95% copper, 5% tin and zinc)
Mintage: 80,719,163
Condition: ungraded, raw coin. The grade is our opinion only.
The coin ships in a protective holder.
The coin shown is the exact coin you will receive.
