Offered here is a genuine 1904 Barber (Liberty Head) quarter struck in 90% silver at the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark). Designed by Chief Engraver Charles E. Barber, these quarters circulated heavily for decades, and original pieces from the early 1900s are a classic part of any U.S. type set.
Grade: Good. Liberty's head is fully outlined, the date 1904, all thirteen stars and IN GOD WE TRUST are bold, and the rims are complete. LIBERTY on the headband has worn away. On the reverse the eagle is outlined with some wing feathers, the arrows, olive branch and QUARTER DOLLAR are clear, and the upper legend is weak at the rim.
Condition, please read: there is a small ding on the right obverse rim near the stars. The reverse has several long scratches across the upper legend and stars and into the lower left field, and there are lighter scratches on Liberty's face and the obverse fields. Even gray toning with a few dark spots. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
Year: 1904
Mint: Philadelphia (no mint mark)
Composition: 90% silver, 10% copper (0.18084 oz silver)
Condition: ungraded, raw coin
