Offered here is a 1903 Indian Head cent from the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark), struck in bronze in the last decade of the Indian cent series, which ended in 1909.
Grade: Extremely Fine (XF). LIBERTY on the headband is complete and readable. The headdress feathers are sharp and separate with inner feather lines showing, and the ribbon and hair curls behind the neck hold detail. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the date are bold, with denticles around the rim. On the reverse, ONE CENT is bold, the shield lines are sharp, and the oak wreath, bow and arrows are crisp. Light wear shows on the cheek, the hair over the ear, the feather tips and the high points of the wreath.
Condition, please read: brown color. There are small nicks and bumps on the rim, including on the left side of the obverse near UNITED and on the lower right of the reverse. There are a few small green spots on the obverse near UNITED and STATES, and some dark spotting on the reverse below the bow and in the lower wreath. Please look at all the photos, which are the best description.
