Offered here is a 1903 Indian Head cent from the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark), more than 120 years old.
Grade: XF (Extremely Fine). LIBERTY is complete on the headband, with every letter readable. The feathers are complete and show their feather lines, the ribbon is separated from the hair, and some of the diamond detail on the ribbon remains. On the reverse all of the shield lines are complete and separate, ONE CENT is bold, and the oak wreath shows its leaf detail with light wear on the high points. Rims are full with denticles showing all the way around.
Condition, please read: medium brown. There are rim nicks and small rim bumps on the right side of the obverse (about 2 to 4 o'clock), and on the reverse rim at the upper left (about 10 o'clock) and the right (about 3 o'clock). There is some green verdigris on the reverse, mostly in the letters of ONE CENT, beside the shield and around the bow at the bottom of the wreath. A darker spot behind the eye and a few small dark spots and light marks in the fields, normal for a circulated coin. Please look at all the photos, which are the best description.
Composition: bronze (95% copper, 5% tin and zinc)
Mintage: 85,092,703
Condition: ungraded, raw coin. The grade is our opinion only.
The coin ships in a protective holder.
The coin shown is the exact coin you will receive.
