Offered here is a 1903 Indian Head cent from the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark), from the final decade of the Indian cent series, which ended in 1909.
Grade: VF (Very Fine). All the letters of LIBERTY show on the headband, with both edges of the band clear; the letters are worn but readable, best seen in the angled-light photo. Most of the headdress feathers show their center lines and feather detail, with wear on the tips. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the date are bold, and the rims are full with denticles all the way around. On the reverse, ONE CENT is bold, all of the shield lines are sharp, and the oak wreath shows leaf detail, ribbon and arrows.
Condition, please read: even chocolate brown with a few lighter copper high points on the lettering and date. There is a small nick/bump on the rim at the upper left of the obverse (about 10 to 11 o'clock). Light scattered marks in the fields and on the portrait, normal for a circulated coin. Please look at all the photos, which are the best description.
Composition: bronze (95% copper, 5% tin and zinc)
Mintage: 85,092,703
Condition: ungraded, raw coin. The grade is our opinion only.
The coin ships in a protective holder.
The coin shown is the exact coin you will receive.
