Offered here is a genuine 1899 Barber dime struck at the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark), in 90% silver. A true 19th century coin, struck more than 125 years ago. Designed by Chief Engraver Charles E. Barber, the Liberty Head dime was struck from 1892 to 1916. A solid, affordable type coin for a Barber dime set or silver collection.

Grade: Good. Rims are full on both sides, and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the date 1899 are complete and clear. Liberty's portrait is in bold outline with LIBERTY on the headband worn away, as expected for the grade. On the reverse, ONE DIME is bold and the wreath shows its leaves and bow in outline.

Condition, please read: in fairness, there are scattered dark spots over Liberty's portrait and in the obverse fields, including a small dark pit on the cheek. On the reverse there is a short scratch in the wreath at about 2 o'clock, and darker deposits in the wreath and along the rims. Light marks from circulation in the fields. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
