Offered here is an 1896 Morgan silver dollar, struck at the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark below the wreath). A genuine 19th-century American silver dollar, 90% silver, designed by George T. Morgan. Mintage 9,976,762.

About Uncirculated (AU+). A bright, white coin with strong cartwheel luster across both sides. Detail is sharp throughout: the hair strands above Liberty's ear, the cotton blossoms and leaves of the cap, and the eagle's breast and wing feathers are all well defined, and the rims and denticles are full. Only the slightest friction on the highest points of the cheek and the eagle's breast keeps it from a mint-state call.

Condition, please read: in fairness, the coin shows scattered contact marks and fine hairline scratches, as is typical for bagged Morgans, most noticeable on Liberty's cheek and neck and in the obverse fields, with a few light marks on the eagle and in the reverse fields. Natural, untoned color. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.

The coin comes in a square 2x2 holder; the writing on the holder is by others.

Composition: 90% silver, 10% copper (0.7734 oz actual silver weight)
Condition: Ungraded (raw coin, not certified)
