Only 1,766,000 were minted at New Orleans in 1895, and O-mint Barber halves are always in demand with collectors of this 19th-century series. This coin shows heavy, even circulation wear typical of the grade. The date 1895 is full, LIBERTY on the headband is partly visible, all stars are present, and the eagle on the reverse is well outlined. The O mintmark above the D in DOLLAR is clear (close-up photo included). Natural silver-gray surfaces. Designed by Charles E. Barber, Chief Engraver of the US Mint, the Barber half dollar was struck from 1892 to 1915.
