The date is bold and clear, the legend is complete, and the rims are full all the way around on both sides. As is typical for the grade, LIBERTY on the headband has worn away and only the bases of the feathers show, but the reverse shield lines are clearly visible and the oak wreath is fully outlined. 1894 had a notably lower mintage than the surrounding 1890s dates, making it a nice pick for filling an Indian cent album. Please view all photos as part of the description. About the series: Designed by Chief Engraver James B. Longacre, the Indian Head cent was struck from 1859 to 1909. The 1859 cents have a laurel wreath reverse; from 1860 the reverse changed to an oak wreath with a small shield. The cents were copper-nickel until 1864, when the Mint switched to the bronze composition used for the rest of the series.

WHO WE ARE Bourne2Treasure is a family-owned business based in Dayton, TN, proud to be celebrating our 25th year in operation. Along the way we’ve earned over 27,000 pieces of feedback as a seller.
SHIPPING Every coin we sell ships in protective packaging — no exceptions. The exact container depends on the shipping class: for example, our Standard Envelope option is limited to a maximum of 1/4" thickness, so a bubble mailer isn’t used there. Instead, coins travel in a vinyl flip, a thick baggie, or a cardboard flip, whichever best protects that particular coin. We ship daily, Monday through Friday, excluding all USPS holidays.
RETURNS / GUARANTEE We maintain (unless otherwise noted on items like bullion) a 30-day, FREE-to-you return policy. All we want is happy customers — if you don’t like what we send, just send it back, free of charge.
QUESTIONS? CONTACT US Contact us Monday–Friday, 9–5 EST, with any questions or concerns. Our number one goal is happy customers who buy from us time and time again. If you ever have an issue, please let us know — and remember, our return policy above has you covered.
GRADING DISCLAIMER We arrive at an approximate grade using a combination of our own years of experience and, increasingly, Artificial Intelligence (AI). We are not a professional grading service, and any grade shown is only an approximation — please make your own determination based on the photos provided.
