Offered here is an 1890 Indian Head cent, struck in bronze at the Philadelphia Mint. A sharp 19th century example with a full LIBERTY and complete feather detail.
Grade: About Uncirculated (AU) sharpness. All seven letters of LIBERTY show on the headband, every feather has its center vein and barbs, the ribbon stands apart from the hair and diamond detail shows on the ribbon. Light wear on the cheek, the hair above the ear and the feather tips. The obverse keeps some original surface and shine. Full rims and denticles on both sides.
Condition, please read: this coin has environmental damage. There is a dark patch of corrosion with small green spots on the obverse at the rim between STATES and OF, over the top feather tips, and a few small dark specks on the portrait and in the fields. The reverse has green and olive verdigris/corrosion over much of the surface, which softens the look of ONE CENT, the shield and the wreath; the design is all there under it. Medium copper-brown overall. No rim damage seen. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
Composition: bronze (95% copper, 5% tin and zinc)
Denomination: 1 Cent
Mint: Philadelphia (no mint mark)
Mintage: 57,180,114
Ungraded and uncertified. The approximate grade is our opinion only. THE COIN SHOWN IS THE EXACT COIN YOU WILL RECEIVE.
