1889 Indian Head Cent Penny 1C VG Very Good Bronze 19th Century US Coin
Offered here is an 1889 United States Indian Head Cent, struck in bronze at the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark). Approximate grade: VG (Very Good). LIBERTY on the headband is not readable, but the feathers are fully outlined and separated, and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the date are bold and complete with full rims all the way around. The reverse is stronger, with clear vertical lines in the shield, bold ONE CENT, and clear outlines on the oak wreath, ribbon and arrows. Even medium brown color.
Please note: a thin scratch on the reverse running down from the top of the wreath through ONE CENT, best seen in the angled reverse photos, and a small bright tick on the reverse rim at about 1 o'clock. Light marks on the portrait and in the fields. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
Composition: bronze (95% copper, 5% tin and zinc)
Denomination: 1 Cent
Mintage: 48,866,025
Ungraded and uncertified. The approximate grade is our opinion only. THE COIN SHOWN IS THE EXACT COIN YOU WILL RECEIVE.
