1887 Indian Head Cent Penny 1C Good Bronze Philadelphia US Coin 19th Century
Offered here is an 1887 Indian Head cent, struck in bronze at the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark). A solid, honest circulated example with even brown color.
Grade: Good (a strong Good, at the top of the grade). The date and all of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA are complete and bold, with full rims on both sides. The feathers are outlined and separate from the head, with detail at their bases; LIBERTY on the headband is worn away, as is normal for the grade. On the reverse the shield lines are clear and separate and the oak wreath is fully outlined with faint leaf detail.
Condition: a few small dark spots on the portrait (in the hair and near the neck), and slightly granular surfaces with some light spotting on the reverse, mostly on the right side of the wreath near the rim. No rim damage seen. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
Composition: bronze (95% copper, 5% tin and zinc)
Mintage: 45,223,523
Condition: ungraded, raw coin. The grade is our opinion only.
The coin ships in a protective holder.
The coin shown is the exact coin you will receive.
