1883 Liberty V Nickel With Cents About Uncirculated AU 5C In Protective HolderThe Liberty Head "V" nickel debuted in 1883. Early coins showed only a "V" for the value, and some were gold-plated and passed as $5 pieces, so later in 1883 the Mint added the word CENTS. This is the With Cents type. This coin shows sharp detail in Liberty's hair and the wreath, at about AU. It is not certified; it comes sealed in a sturdy display holder that protects it and makes a great presentation.
