Offered here is an 1876 Seated Liberty quarter struck at the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark), from America's Centennial year. It is the "With Motto" type, with IN GOD WE TRUST on the ribbon above the eagle, a 19th-century 90% silver type coin.
Grade: Good+. The date 1876 is bold and complete, all 13 stars are clear, and Liberty's full seated figure, the shield's stripes and the pole and cap are outlined, with full rims all the way around. LIBERTY on the shield is worn smooth, as is normal at this grade. The reverse is strong for the grade: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and QUAR. DOL. are complete, IN GOD WE TRUST shows on the ribbon, and the eagle keeps a good share of its wing feathers, which is what lifts it to Good+.
Condition, please read: the coin has even, darker gray toning. There are light scattered hairline scratches in the obverse fields, mostly to the right of Liberty, a small dark spot on the obverse rim at the right, and light scattered marks on the reverse.
