1864 Two Cent Piece VG First Year First IN GOD WE TRUST US Coin Civil War 2cIn 1864, with the Civil War raging and coins hoarded out of circulation, the United States introduced a brand-new denomination: the two cent piece. It was the first US coin ever to bear the motto IN GOD WE TRUST, and this coin is from that historic first year. This exact coin earns the Very Good letter grade with a bold 1864 date, a fully outlined shield with strong vertical lines, a crisp big 2 CENTS in the wreath on the reverse, and portions of the famous motto still visible on the ribbon — GOD reads plainly in the close-ups. Honest Civil War copper with the story right on its face.
Ungraded and uncertified. The approximate grade is our opinion only. THE COIN SHOWN IS THE EXACT COIN YOU WILL RECEIVE. |
BOURNE2TREASURE
WHO WE AREBourne2Treasure is a family-owned business based in Dayton, TN, proud to be celebrating our 25th year in operation. Along the way we’ve earned over 27,000 pieces of feedback as a seller.
SHIPPINGEvery coin we sell ships in protective packaging — no exceptions. The exact container depends on the shipping class: for example, our Standard Envelope option is limited to a maximum of 1/4" thickness, so a bubble mailer isn’t used there. Instead, coins travel in a vinyl flip, a thick baggie, or a cardboard flip, whichever best protects that particular coin. We ship daily, Monday through Friday, excluding all USPS holidays.
RETURNS / GUARANTEEWe maintain (unless otherwise noted on items like bullion) a 30-day, FREE-to-you return policy. All we want is happy customers — if you don’t like what we send, just send it back, free of charge.
QUESTIONS? CONTACT USContact us Monday–Friday, 9–5 EST, with any questions or concerns. Our number one goal is happy customers who buy from us time and time again. If you ever have an issue, please let us know — and remember, our return policy above has you covered.
GRADING DISCLAIMERWe arrive at an approximate grade using a combination of our own years of experience and, increasingly, Artificial Intelligence (AI). We are not a professional grading service, and any grade shown is only an approximation — please make your own determination based on the photos provided.
