1863 Indian Head Cent — Copper-Nickel Civil War Date — Very Good (VG)
A pleasing Very Good example of the 1863 Indian Head Cent, struck at the height of the Civil War. The headdress feathers are mostly outlined, the date is bold, and the rims are full on both sides. These thick copper-nickel "white cents" circulated hard during the war years as coinage was hoarded — a tangible piece of American history.
