When the war drove federal cents out of circulation, merchants struck their own cent-sized tokens to make change; collectors call the advertising ones store cards. The obverse carries an Indian head with UNITED WE STAND and the 1863 date; the reverse reads BROAS PIE BAKER, ONE COUNTRY, with the street address around a central star. Very Fine to Extremely Fine with every letter of the merchant’s name and address sharp and clear, on even brown surfaces. Struck in copper, about the size of a small cent.
