1858 Seated Liberty Half Dime H10C G Good 90% Silver Toned Pre Civil War CoinOffered here is an 1858 Seated Liberty Half Dime from the Philadelphia Mint, struck in 90% silver just before the Civil War. 3,500,000 were minted in 1858. This coin shows heavy, even circulation wear with a full date, all stars visible and Liberty fully outlined. HALF DIME and the wreath are clear on the reverse. Natural golden and gray toning. Please note a small rim bump at the lower right of the obverse (see photos). Designed after Christian Gobrecht’s Seated Liberty motif, the half dime was the smallest US silver coin and was struck until 1873, when the five-cent nickel replaced it.
