1857 Seated Liberty Half Dime H10C — Fine

On offer is an 1857 Seated Liberty Half Dime in Fine condition — a genuine pre-Civil War silver type coin at a friendly mid-grade price. The date is bold, all thirteen stars are clear, Liberty's seated figure is fully outlined with the shield showing, and the reverse wreath frames a readable HALF DIME legend. Honest, even circulation wear with no problems to hide.

At just 15.5 mm these little half dimes pre-date the nickel five-cent piece by a decade; this one was struck at Philadelphia in 1857, the year the Mint retired the big copper cent. A perfect affordable example for the 19th-century type set.

  • Year: 1857
  • Mint: Philadelphia (no mintmark)
  • Mintage: 7,280,000
  • Composition: 90% Silver, 10% Copper — 1.24 g, 15.5 mm
  • Approximate Grade: F (Fine)

Ungraded and uncertified. The approximate grade is our opinion only. THE COIN SHOWN IS THE EXACT COIN YOU WILL RECEIVE.
