
1848 Braided Hair Large Cent – F (Fine)
1848 Braided Hair large cent struck at the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark). These big copper cents were replaced by the small cent in 1857. Circulated Fine with LIBERTY readable on the headband, all thirteen stars visible, and ONE CENT clear inside the wreath on the reverse.
Please note: there is a small scratch/mark on the reverse over the word CENT, shown in the photos. 100% copper, approx. 27.5mm.
